Artist Statement
The process of printmaking has led me to be invested in intimacy, what it is, and how we react to it both personally and generationally. Despite much of my previous work being created with technical goals in mind, their concepts are and have always been in some way related to intimacy, whether that be in relation to the self, to others, or to heritage. Furthermore, the subject and stylistic variety found in my work not only references this spectrum of intimacy but also reflects the multiple cultural ties and subsequent confusion as an Asian American raised in New Mexico.
